NOSTRACE VS INCIDENT.IO
incident.io is well-regarded for a reason — it’s top-rated among incident-response tools for simplicity, setup speed, and support quality. If you want the fastest path to a working incident-response workflow inside Slack, it’s a strong, credible choice. This page is about where the two products actually differ, not a case that incident.io is bad.
The real difference: cross-organization, not just cross-tool
incident.io is already credibly cross-tool — it connects your stack and orchestrates response within your organization. That’s table stakes now, not a differentiator either product can claim over the other. What no single-org tool can do — incident.io included, by design, since it only ever sees your organization’s own data — is tell you a new incident matches a pattern seen at other organizations running similar stacks. That cross-org prevention layer, not the workflow automation, is what Gnostrace is actually built around.
Where the products overlap
Both assemble a Slack-native war room for a live incident and generate an AI-written closing summary once it resolves. If that’s the whole job you need done, either product does it — this isn’t a capability incident.io lacks.
| incident.io | Gnostrace | |
|---|---|---|
| Slack-native war-room assembly | Yes | Yes |
| AI-generated closing summary | Yes (Scribe) | Yes |
| On-call scheduling / paging | Yes (separate paid add-on) | No — connects to your existing paging tool as a source instead |
| Matches against your org’s own incident history | Within your workspace | Yes |
| Matches against other organizations’ resolved incidents | No — single-tenant by design | Yes — the core differentiator |
On pricing
incident.io’s base plan doesn’t include on-call — it’s billed separately (roughly $12/user/month on top of the ~$19/user/month base, at time of writing), pricing scales per responder, and public status pages are capped by tier (one on Team, unlimited only on Enterprise). Real, sourced complaints, not a hypothetical. We won’t claim a pricing advantage here — Gnostrace’s own paid-tier billing isn’t live yet either (tiers and features are on the Pricing page, sign-up doesn’t yet route to checkout). That’s an honest gap, not a sales pitch dressed as one.
